Spend the week immersed in technique and movement exploration with choreographer Regina Klenjoski, guests and company. We begin the day with a somatic bodywork practice to deepen our understanding of movement origins through pilates, yoga and or Bartenieff inspired floor work and improvisation. Next we dive into modern technique class to challenge our strenghth, stamina and technique. We will open up our personal movement language and build to challenging phrases requiring athleticism and a confident artistic voice. Each day we delve into contemporary partnering work or contact improvisation and use repertory and directed improv to create phrasing as a means to explore and develop our own artistic voices as performers and collaborators.
"I am interested in leading dancers to recognize, discover and expand their personal movement potential and unique strengths as performers. Research and play is the focus. Developing skills to be a collaborative and contributive dancer is paramount. Learning to be a generous partner in partnering work. Getting brave and stripping away unnecessary barriers in order to bring your unique self to your performance." - Regina Klenjoski
